Dear students, It is my honor and privilege to welcome you all to this renowned college of higher learning. Realising the significance and need of the higher education to the students of rural area, the great freedom fighter and organizer of the parallel Government in Satara, Krantiagrani Dr. G. D. Bapu Lad established this college in 1998. In the beginning Arts faculty was started in the year 1998 and Commerce faculty in 2003. Revolution in information technology necessitated to start Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A.), a three year degree course in 2008. In order to develop knowledge based society with social justice education has a significant role to play especially to poor and downtrodden students. In this regard,we are taking special efforts to make our students competent to face the challenges of the highly competitive global market scenario. I am proud to say that our college is progressing very rapidly. It is our endeavour to achieve academic excellence and to develop committed and competent students by providing them quality education, soft skills such as spoken English, computer skills, personality development, so on and so forth. Ultimate aim is to develop our students so that they will contribute in the nation building process. Co-curricular and extra co-curricular activities are initiated to promote creative talent among the students. Our College has the tradition of excellent university results. Students have achieved great success in sports at national and international level. College has N.S.S. unit of 100 students which endeavor to create social responsibility and commitment in our students. College also have competitive exam guidance centre to prepare the students to achieve success in competitive examinations. Our college has in its stride ‘B’ grade certification by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Banglore in 2004. Our college got permanent affiliation to Shivaji University, Kolhapur in June 2009 and recognized under 2(f) and 12(B) by University Grants Commission, New Delhi in August 2009. It is a significant milestone in the history of our college. Now our college is getting grants for development of college and other basic facilities for higher learning under various UGC schemes. Our college has the competent and highly qualified and motivated teaching faculty which is committed to achieve academic excellence. Faculty is motivated to take part in seminars, conferences, symposia, workshops, refresher courses at state and national level to equip and update them to the new development at national and international level. We have a very good library with rich collection of books, journals and periodicals. College has state of art computer lab with broad band network facilities. It is our endeavor to mould and groom our students as a responsible and committed citizens to shoulder the responsibilities in various fields of agricultural, industry, trade and commerce, art, culture, academic and research.
